The Committee takes note of the information supplied by the Government in its first report on the application of the Convention.
The Committee asks the Government to state in its next report how the Convention is applied to teachers covered by special statutes and to provide a copy of Decree No. 1467/64 concerning armed forces civilian and teaching staff, and a copy of Decree No. 1455/87 concerning the scales for the various sectors of the public administration.
Furthermore, the Committee points out that it is not fully compatible with the principles of freedom of association for the legislation to specify the names of representative organisations composing the committee that participates in determining wage policy and other terms and conditions of employment in the public sector (section 4 of Decree No. 1321 of 14 August 1987 refers by name to the General Confederation of Labour (CGT)). The Committee considers that it would be more appropriate to indicate only that the committee in question is composed permanently of representatives from the trade union organisations recognised as most representative (Asociaciones sindicales con personería juridica gremial de ámbito más amplio), without mentioning the name of the organisation in question.
The Committee asks the Government to indicate the measures taken or envisaged in this respect in its next report.
