Effect given to the recommendations of the Committee and the Governing Body- 15. The Committee last examined this case, the pending allegations for which concerned a criminal complaint for contempt of court in relation to the compulsory conciliation order against trade union officials, at its March 2013 meeting [see 367th Report, paras 17 and 18]. On that occasion, having recalled the principle that no one should be deprived of their freedom or be subject to penal sanctions for the mere fact of organizing or participating in a peaceful strike and in accordance with freedom of association principles, the Committee noted that the case was at the investigation stage and requested the Government to keep it informed of any final ruling handed down in relation to this case.

As part of the follow-up to the case, in a communication of 29 April 2014, the Government states that on 28 June 2012 a decision was taken to shelve the proceedings in progress for alleged contempt of court against the trade union officials in question (the Government attaches a copy of the corresponding court decision).
- 17. Having duly noted that the proceedings against the leaders of the complainant organization for the alleged offence of contempt of court were shelved, the Committee will not pursue its examination of this case.
