1. Further to its observation, the Committee requests the Government to provide additional information on the following points.
2. Article 5 of the Convention. Tripartite committee. The Committee notes the Government’s statement that the occupational safety and health tripartite committee is still not functional. With reference to its previous comments, the Committee urges the Government to take the necessary steps to ensure that this committee functions properly and invites the Government to keep the Committee informed on the progress achieved in this regard.
3. Article 6. Labour inspection. The Committee notes in this respect the Government’s statement that the number of occupational physicians to assist the labour inspectorate has not increased and requests the Government to provide information with its next report whether it envisages increasing the number in order to assist the labour inspectorate to carry out its many tasks. It also requests the Government to provide copies of the latest reports of the labour inspection services on cases that raise issues relating to matters covered by the Convention.
