1950-09-14, the Canadian Minister of Labour, Milton F. Gregg, unveils the commemorative plaque recalling that ILO was based at Sir William Dawson Hall, McGill University, Montreal, from 1940 to 1948. . The unveiling was attended by: V.C. Phelan, Director of the Branch Office for Canada (Ottawa), L. Mayrand, Deputy Under-Secretary of State for External Affairs, representing the Canadian Minister of External Affairs, F. Cyril James, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of McGill University, Belgian Senator Léon-Eli Troclet, Chairman of the Governing Body, and C. Wilfred Jenks, Assistant Director-General representing the ILO Director-General.
