Comments and Observations: | Govt. of Singapore (17 June 2024) Singapore / my MPA colleagues are aware of the case below and have been assisting.
Nonetheless, I have conveyed the below update to them.
We will endeavour to provide further information when available.
Govt. of Saint Kitts and Nevis (19 June 2024) This Administration is in contact with the port agent appointed by the Singapore High Court, Sheriff's office.
We are liaising with them on an agreement for a reduced manning compliment whilst in a local shipyard which would allow for the repatriation of any seafarer onboard that wishes to leave.
Upon receipt of further confirmations of the repatriation efforts, we will update the IMO.
Other (19 June 2024) Govt. of Saint Kitts and Nevis to the IMO
This Administration and the ITF are in dialog with the owners of the subject vessel for the payment of outstanding wages and repatriation. We are seeking the help of the port state to restrict the vessel’s movements in accordance with UNCLOS Article 217 whilst the owners address their non-compliance with the MLC convention.
There are claims from the owners regarding the crew being aggressive, destructive and denying payment of wages whilst onboard. This matter is being investigated and we hope for a resolution as soon as possible.
This Administration will provide further updates where possible.
