On behalf of our colleagues from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), we would like to provide some updates on the case involving MLS SARATU.

MPA had received a crew complaint regarding unpaid wages on 2 April 2024, and had taken action to follow up with the company.

A virtual meeting was arranged with the company representative, stationed in Nigeria, who provided the following updates:

1. The company is committed to clear the payments progressively, in three (3) separate tranches over six (6) weeks, for all eight (8) crew members. The monies will be paid directly to the crew.
2. The company will update the crew onboard of the arrangements for progressive payment plans.
3. The company has committed to providing records of the six (6) crew who had signed off, and evidence that there were no wages outstanding.
4. The company is aware of ITF’s email, and they will address them accordingly.

MPA is monitoring the case and in also in contact with the local representative based in Singapore as well. We will provide further information accordingly, when this becomes available.
