New SCORE Training module

SCORE4Climate: Optimising performance through resource efficiency and circularity

The new ILO SCORE4Climate SCORE Training module provides practical information and tools to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) improve resource efficiency, clean production and circularity, with the ultimate goal of promoting productivity, working conditions and environmental sustainability in SMEs.

The Global SCORE team is launching a new SCORE Training module, SCORE4Climate, which supports SMEs to start their path toward a circular economy. Through presenting key concepts, good practices and practical tools, the module help SMEs identify opportunities and generate innovative solutions to improve resource efficiency, clean production and circularity.

The module features interactive, easily adaptable content which can be tailored to the specific needs of SMEs of different sizes and sectors. It not only builds the capacity of SMEs to identify simple solutions that can be readily implemented, but it also encourages SMEs to go one step further by considering more sophisticated solutions such as using renewable energy setting long-term environmental objectives and implementing Environmental Management Systems.

By highlighting the benefits of resource efficiency, clean production and circularity for SMEs, the SCORE4Climate module strengthens the business case for integrating SMEs into the circular economy. It serves as a practical tool for countries to minimize SMEs’ carbon footprint and reduce their collective environmental impact.

The SCORE4Climate module is being piloted in Bolivia in collaboration with Confederation of Private Entrepreneurs of Bolivia (CEPB). Training of Trainers (ToT) was carried out virtually in 2022 with the participation of 9 trainers from 3 departments of Bolivia. More details can be found below.
