Young European Co-operators Network (YECN) held a Local Workshop in Izmir, Turkey on 15th and 16th of November 2019 with the support of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and the Cooperatives Europe and in partnership with the Youth Deal Cooperative in Turkey.

The workshop brought together 25 young cooperators to kick-start the local network in Turkey and to discuss cooperation plans for 2020. Formed at the Cooperatives Europe General Assembly in April 2015, YECN has supported young cooperators and youth-led cooperatives across Europe to thrive, develop and grow. 

ILO COOP Unit Manager also sent a video message to the event underlining the relevance of the cooperative business model for youth employment.

Young European cooperators will convene mid-December in Brussels to keep up the momentum and prepare an action plan for 2020.
