Migrant workers’ rights to freedom of association and collective bargaining

Freedom of association and collective bargaining (FACB) are fundamental rights of universal scope that should apply to all workers – including migrant workers. The new ILO Report describes the special challenges migrants face in enjoying these rights, clarifies the expectations from international instruments, supports efforts to fine-tune laws and regulations, and provides advice on how to overcome common practical obstacles to the full enjoyment of FACB’s rights by migrant workers.

Digital wages for decent work in Indonesia - a rapid assessment

Digital wage payments (through bank accounts, mobile money wallets or prepaid cards) can benefit workers and enterprises and contribute to achieving public policy goals. But the transition from cash to responsible digital wages brings challenges such as limited financial infrastructure and new systems and tools that enterprises and workers need to adopt. The ILO's Global Centre on Digital Wages for Decent Work conducted a rapid assessment that analyses the potential for responsible digital wages in Indonesia.

Women and the Mine of the Future Global Report

Rapid technological advances, increasing calls for sustainability, and the low-carbon energy transition are transforming large-scale mining across the globe. But the lack of high-quality, gender-disaggregated employment data leaves decision-makers ill-equipped to effectively support a more equal and inclusive mining workforce. To help remedy the situation, the Women and the Mine of the Future Global Report looks at a sample of 12 countries to uncover the gender-disaggregated employment profile for large-scale mining, focusing on women and their occupations in the sector.
