    Building the Capacity of the Philippines Labour Inspectorate

    15 December 2014 - 31 August 2018

    The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) of the Philippines has undertaken initiatives to strengthen its Labour Law Compliance System (LLCS). The new LLCS promotes a culture of voluntary compliance on general labour and occupational safety and health (OSH) standards among companies, through the participation of both workers and employers in the joint assessments and implementation of corrective action plans.

    The project aims to help strengthen workplace compliance in Viet Nam through labour inspection, thus improve the application of the labour law. The project also complements other ILO projects in the areas of industrial relations, occupational safety and health and better work.

    Improving Labour Law Compliance and Building Sound Labour Practices in the Export Oriented Shrimp Sector in Bangladesh

    The Shrimp project is funded by the Government of Bangladesh (GoB) and aims to promote better labour law compliance with international labour standards, particularly fundamental principles and rights at work in the export-oriented shrimp sector.

    ILO/Norwegian partnership on labour inspection

    1 January 2012 - 31 March 2013

    On 5 December 2011 Norway and the ILO signed a new Partnership Cooperation Agreement. This agreement provides financial support for a range of technical areas under the ILO’s mandate, including labour inspection. The projects’ goal is to assist countries strengthen and modernise their labour inspection services for more effectiveness and impact. This includes promoting a balanced approach between labour law enforcement and compliance and in so doing, improving cooperation between labour inspectorates, workers’ and employers’ organizations and other relevant institutional partners.
