Being part of the United Nations System Delivering as One on Climate Change ILO is inviting to debate the role of the UN system in providing coherent and consistent support to the efforts of Member States at national, regional and global levels, in addressing climate change through action on adaptation, capacity building, technology transfer, REDD and other areas. The ILO will be represented by the Regional Director Sachiko Yamamoto who will describe the work of the ILO in addressing the labour and decent work dimension of climate change

Overview

Under the leadership of the United Nations Secretary-General, the Chief Executives Board for Coordination (CEB) has undertaken an extensive exercise in coordination to align the strengths, capacities and expertise of the organizations of the UN system to deliver as one in meeting the challenge of climate change.

The UN system is determined to provide coherent and consistent support to the efforts of Member States at national, regional and global levels in addressing climate change through action on adaptation, capacity building, technology transfer, REDD and other areas.

The United Nations Secretary-General and the Executive Heads of several UN system organizations will participate in an interactive discussion with the audience on the UN system’s efforts.

Attendance is open to all interested COP15 delegates and observers, and the public at large.
