SIXTH ITEM ON THE AGENDA

Invitation of intergovernmental and non-governmental
international organizations

(a) Tripartite Meeting on Voluntary Initiatives Affecting
Training and Education on Safety, Health and
Environment in the Chemical Industries
(Geneva, 22-26 February 1999)

1. In addition to the non-governmental international organizations that have general consultative status with the ILO, it is proposed to invite the following organizations to be represented by observers at the above meeting:

• Global Crop Protection Federation;
• International Council of Chemical Associations;
• International Federation of Chemical, Energy, Mine and General Workers' Unions;
• International Federation of University Women;
• International Union of Food, Agricultural, Hotel, Restaurant, Catering, Tobacco and Allied Workers Associations;
• World Federation of Industry Workers.

2. The Committee on Sectoral and Technical Meetings and Related Issues may wish to recommend that the Governing Body authorize the Director-General to invite the non-governmental international organizations listed above to be represented by observers at the meeting.

(b) Tripartite Meeting on Managing the Privatization
and Restructuring of Public Utilities
(Geneva, 12-16 April 1999)

3. In addition to the non-governmental international organizations that have general consultative status with the ILO, it is proposed to invite the following organizations to be represented by observers at the above meeting:

• Communications International;
• General Confederation of Trade Unions;
• International Centre of Research and Information on the Public and Cooperative Economy;
• International Council of Nurses;
• International Federation of Chemical, Energy, Mine and General Workers' Unions;
• International Federation of Employees in Public Services;
• International Federation of University Women;
• Public Services International.

(c) Tripartite Meeting on Social and Labour Issues
in Small-scale Mines
(Geneva, 17-21 May 1999)

5. In addition to the non-governmental international organizations that have general consultative status with the ILO, it is proposed to invite the following organizations to be represented by observers at the above meeting:

Intergovernmental organization:

• Southern African Development Community.

Non-governmental international organizations:

• International Council on Metals and the Environment;
• International Energy and Mines Organization (formerly the International Energy and Miners Organization);
• International Federation of Chemical, Energy, Mine and General Workers' Unions;
• Small Mining International.

6. The Committee on Sectoral and Technical Meetings and Related Issues may wish to recommend that the Governing Body authorize the Director-General to invite the intergovernmental and non-governmental international organizations listed above to be represented by observers at the meeting.
