Report of the Meeting of Experts on
Ambient Factors at the Workplace
(Geneva, 27 January-2 February 1999)

1. The Meeting of Experts on Ambient Factors at the Workplace was held in Geneva from 27 January to 2 February 1999. Fifteen experts were invited to take part in the Meeting, five of whom were appointed following consultations with governments, five after consultations with the Employers' group and five after consultations with the Workers' group of the Governing Body. The Meeting was attended by all 15 experts and by several observers from intergovernmental and non-governmental international organizations.

2. The experts examined and unanimously approved the Code of practice on ambient factors at the workplace, as amended.

3. The report of the Meeting is appended.⁽¹⁾  The Code of practice is being processed separately and will be available to members of the Governing Body at the beginning of the current session.

4. The Governing Body is invited to take note of the report of the Meeting of Experts and to authorize the Director-General to publish the Code of practice on ambient factors at the workplace.
