1. The Director-General has received requests from the International Federation of University Women and the Trades Union International of Workers in the Building, Wood, Building Materials and Allied Industries to be represented by observers at the meeting.
2. The Governing Body may wish to authorize the Director-General to invite the above non-governmental international organizations to be represented by observers at the meeting.

1. This organization will be come into being on 1 January 2000; UNI-IGF was previously part of the International Graphical Federation, UNI-MEI of Media and Entertainment International, UNI-IBITS of FIET, and UNI-TELECOMS of Communication International.
2. New name (since May 1997) of the International Federation of Newspaper Publishers.
3. The last such appointment, made at the Governing Body's 275th Session (June 1999), was that of Mr. Edström (Worker member), who was appointed to represent the Governing Body at the Tripartite Meeting on Safety and Health in the Fishing Industry (Geneva, 13-17 December 1999).
