Presidential Representative in the Northwestern Federal District of the Russian Federation. Ms. Matvienko was a former Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation with responsibility for social issues, education, sports and culture. Prior to that, Ms. Matvienko was a diplomat and long-serving government official. From 1991 to 1995, she served as Russian Ambassador to Malta, and from 1997 to 1998 as Russian Ambassador to Greece. |
