Scientist and Parliamentarian. A member of the German Bundestag since 1998, Dr von Weizsäcker is currently Chairman of Environment Committee of the German Bundestag. Formerly Professor of Biology and President of the University ofKassel, Dr. von Weizsaecker has served as Director of the United Nations Centre on Science and Technology, the Institute for European Environmental Policy and, from 1991-2000, of tthe Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy. He has been a member of the Club of Rome since 1992.His book, "Factor Four: Doubling Wealth, Halving Resource Use", has been translated into twelve languages. |
