Empowering the Green Workforce: Education and Skills for a Just Transition

The Greening Education Partnership (GEP) is a global initiative launched at the UN Transforming Education Summit in 2022 to equip every learner with the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes to address climate change and promote sustainable development. An impressive number of over 700 partner organisations pledged their commitments to GEP. The panel session will discuss how skills development, education, training and lifelong learning can contribute to the green transition, and how to align the GEP efforts with the guiding principles of a just transition. This session will bring together UNESCO as GEP coordinator and selected active partner agencies of the GEP, including the ILO, IRENA and UNICEF to exchange insights and explore ways to work together through the partnership on greening education and skills development

This event will be streamed via the ILO live platform.
