Inter-agency career guidance event

From school to work, from work to life – A conversation about career education with Tristram Hooley

This is the third in a series of informal talks between members of the inter-agency career guidance working group and international career guidance experts. The conversation focused on career education and career guidance for youth in education and training.

Organised by the inter-agency group on career guidance (IAG), this session aimed to understand the current challenges and solutions to establishing effective career education in schools and training institutions. Amidst critical discussions around uncertainty but also new opportunities and hope, youth deserve the best opportunity to develop the skills and attitudes that will enable them to navigate a shifting labour market and have a balanced, fulfilled life.

The session featured Prof. Tristram Hooley, international researcher, and practitioner trainer in career education, as well as a well-known advocate of social justice in career development.

The session also brought together expertise from different agencies including ILO, OECD, and ETF, who briefly showcased some of their ongoing work.
